It was a bad moment for some Boko Haram militants yesterday (Tuesday)
night when over 40 of them were allegedly killed by the Nigerian troops in an
encounter in Konduga Local Government area of Borno State.
The insurgents, according to investigations, who stormed the
town in the midnight in a long convoy of vans loaded with sophisticated
weapons, could not carry out their mission due to the quick of the troops,
which resulted into exchange of fire that lasted for hours before they were
repelled.
It was also gathered the intention of the sect members was to
proceed to Maiduguri town for a total war after capturing Konduga town.
It was reported that no casualty was recorded on the side of
the military and soldiers had cordoned off the community.
