The remains of His Lordship, Most Rev Simon Akwali Okafor, the Emeritus Bishop of Awka was laid to the mother earth today.

Gov Willie Obiano led Ndi Anambra to pay Tribute to the renowned Bishop whose Education Foundation trains the poorest and brightest in the society.

Obiano reiterated that beyond the church, Ndi Anambra mourns the great loss. 

"The late Bishop Okafor occupies a special place in our hearts for good reasons... he was practical, humane and friendly", he said.
