It is an undisputable fact that Anambra State is the most endowed State in the South East of Nigeria in the area of human resources and human capital development. It is innumerable to mention names. The latest entrant into the leadership hall of fame in Anambra State as well as the entire South East region is the phenomenon known as Willie Obiano, the present Executive Governor of Anambra State. Prior to his emergence as the governor, not much was known of him in the political arena. His community and surrounding communities could testify of his humanitarian and philanthropic gestures to the people. He was however a very well-known player in the corporate world, working his way to the top.

Popular South African athlete, Oscar Pistorius has been  found guilty of culpable homicide in shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

According to Judge Thokozile Masipa, Pistorius had acted “negligently” when firing four hollow point rounds into a locked toilet door in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 2013.

The Nigerian Ministry of Health has announced that the country currently has no active case of the deadly Ebola virus. 

According to posts by the spokesman for the Minister of Health, Dan Nwomeh, he revealed that the nation has recorded 12 cured and 7 dead from the virus brought into the country by Liberian Patrick Sawyer.

The World Health Organisation, WHO, estimates that over 2,296 have already died from the disease since it broke out early this year in West Africa.

Government’s effort to broker peace between the Anglican Communion and the Nkwelle Ezunaka Community is yielding desirable result as the fact finding panel set up by Chief Willie Obiano, submitted their report today.

The panel has Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr Nkem Okeke as its Chairman. Other members are; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Prof Joe Asika, Barr Azuka Enemuo (Commissoner for Local Government), Prof Kate Omenugha (Commissioner for Education), Barr Stella Onuoha (Commissioner for Lands}, Barr Chuma Mbonu (Commissioner for Transport) and Chief Tony Onyima (Commissioner for Information and Culture)

NFF was given until Monday morning for a rival faction to relinquish control of the NFF and for its embattled President, Aminu Maigari and his staff to be allowed back to their posts after having seen off two attempted bids to sweep them from office over the last months.

Man locks up 25-year-old woman for 3 years because she gave birth to a girl

 

A mother, 25 years was locked in a bathroom for three years and banned from seeing her child because she gave birth to a girl.

The Indian woman found with overgrown nails and torn clothes could not open her eyes in the sunlight while she wept inconsolably as her daughter did not recognize her.

Lesbian Couple weds after 72 years... Could this be love?

 

A lesbian couple that have been together for 72 years finally exchanged wedding vows at First Christian Church, Davenport.

Boyack, 91, and Dubes, 90, first met in 1947.
