APGA Holds Peaceful State Assembly Primaries in Anambra


Early results from the constituencies in the House of Assembly Primary elections of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) which was held across Anambra State today point to a peaceful and transparent outcome as results begin to trickle-in from the field.

At the elections in Awka South 1 State Constituency held at the Barbhill Hotels, Nnamdi Okafor emerged winner with 30 votes followed by Ikebudu with 16 votes.

Dr. Tim Ifediora polled 48 votes to emerge winner in Njikoka 1 Constituency election held at Abagana while the second and third runner-ups scored 9 and 7 votes respectively. Also at Njikoka 2 Peter Ibida emerged with 31 votes ahead of Ify Onyebunu who scored 27 and
Lilian Okosi who scored 18 votes.

The Primaries at Anaocha 2 state Constituency was also peaceful as Hon Ejike Ugochukwu polled 36 votes to beat others to the APGA ticket.


Also, the elections at Onitsha South 2 (Odoakpu Constituency) and Awka South 2 Constituency adjudged to be very free and fair had Hon Beverly Nkemdiche (Ikpeazu) and Hon Harford Oseke returned as the duly elected candidates.
