'1000 Boko Haram Members Arrested In The South-West'

 

According to the Sarkin Hausawa of Lagos, Alhaji Sani Kabir, Over 1000 members of the dreaded Islamist group, Boko Haram have been arrested in the South-West.

These terrorists are said to have been handed over to the security agencies.

Alhaji Sani Kabir, who disclosed that measures are being put in place to avoid the Boko Haram having a place in the South West said:

Unlike other governors that find it almost impossible to work with incumbent Local Government (LG) Chairmen on assumption of office, Chief Willie Obiano of Anambra State has maintained a very cordial, cohesive and progressive relationship with the Chairmen of the 21 Councils in the state.

In appreciation of the harmonious relationship with Gov Obiano, the 21 LG Chairmen recently paid a solidarity visit to the governor at Governor's Lodge, Amawbia.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairmen, Hon Chuma Umeoji, the ALGON Leader and Chairman of Aguata Local Government, stated that their visit is to show appreciation for all the good works Gov Obiano has been doing in the State.

Hon Umeoji while assuring the governor of their total support, expressed joy over the overwhelming success in crime control achieved by the Operation Kpochapu, in less that 7 months.

While receiving the Chairmen, Gov Obiano thanked them for their thoughtfulness and rebuffed the rumour that he plans to jump ship saying that as a man of integrity, he won't allow the party to die but will ensure that APGA captures more states in the South-East by 2015.

Breaking News! Popular Nollywood Actor shot dead in Asaba

 

Popular Nollywood actor Clems Onyeka has been killed.

He was gunned down by a stray bullet in Asaba this afternoon October 14th.

According to eye-witnesses, robbers who robbed a bank along Summit Express, were exchanging gun fire with police when Clems got hit by a stray bullet.

He was just 37 years old.

Anambra Commissioner of Police personally leads Obiano's Operation Kpochapu in a special raid to cleanse Onitsha

The Anambra State Commissioner of Police, H. Hassan Karma this morning, personally led the newly energized Operation Kpochapu to cleanse Onitsha of pick-pockets, touts and perpetual traffic offenders.

Since the inauguration of the special Joint Security Operations outfit code named "Operation Kpochapu" by the State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, Ndi Anambra sleep with their two eyes closed.

CP Hassan said the new drive which is happening simultaneously in Nnewi, Ekwulobia and other towns in the State is aimed at ensuring zero tolerance for all forms of crime and strict adherence to traffic rules.

The Commissioner of Police disclosed that Governor Obiano's unequaled commitment to crime fighting necessitated his decision to lead the team and the Command's resolve to keep criminals and criminality out of Anambra State.

He further warned all jobless miscreants and touts to search for alternative abode as Anambra State has become a new haven of peace and security.

About 28 touts and traffic offenders were arrested this morning.

The source disclosed that the former governor’s son died in Dubai in what appeared to be a freak accident in one of the plush apartment rented by the sacked former governor in Dubai. His body was found in the corridor of the appartment by the security men guarding the apartment.

Timothy Olayiwola, a 28-year old carpenter, has been remanded in prison custody by a  Lagos family court for allegedly abducting and defiling an eight-year old girl in Mushin area of Lagos, P.M NEWS reports.

Olayiwola forcefully took the victim to his room and pulled her pants down before forcefully penetrating her.

Obiano begins rebuilding of 1,300 classroom blocks and Rehab of secondary schools …gives free education to the physically-challenged persons

 

In furtherance of the continuity policy and the rebuilding process in the education sector, Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano has taken practical steps to complete the renovation and rebuilding of about 1,300 primary school classroom blocks by next one year. Already, governor Obiano has embarked on completing the renovation and rebuilding of 520 Primary School classroom blocks before the end of this year in the first phase arrangement to upgrade school infrastructure across the State. In the same vein, the governor directed the rehabilitation of Secondary Schools and granted free education to the physically challenged up to secondary schools.

The governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano was at the 13th Ofala festival of the Obi of Onitsha at Ime-Obi Onitsha, yesterday.

Gov Obiano conferred with the revered Traditional Ruler of Onitsha Kingdom, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Nnaemeka Achebe on the future of cultural festivals in Anambra State and their positive tourism potentials.

Chief Willie Obiano also received President Jonathan who was represented by Sen Chief Ben Ndi-Obi, and the Vice Chancellor of the Kogi State University, Prof Hassan Isah.

$9.3m Arms Deal: CAN blasts Chris Okotie, asks "Is He a Christian"

 

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has again defended its President, Pastor Ayo Orirsejafor and questioned if the founder of Household of God, Pastor Chris Okotie, is a Christian.

Pastor Ayo has been under attack for the alleged involvement of his aircraft in the controversial $9.3m smuggled into South Africa by two Nigerians and an Israeli.
