For many residents of Awka, the forcefully emerging capital
city of Anambra State, this year’s Christmas will go down in history as the
Open Sesame for a glorious future.
Following the resolve of the Willie Obiano
administration to lead the state to a bright new day, a special festival tagged
the Anambra Heritage Festival was organised to shake up the social circuit in
the state.
The Festival which began with a cultural display by masquerades from
the 21 Local Government Areas on Tuesday December 23 came to a dazzling end on
Boxing Day with special Jamblast at the Alex Ekweme Square, headlined by the
iconic hip-hop and Igbo rap sensation, Phyno.
It was a night of colour and razzmatazz
that brought the glamorous side of Awka and marked the beginning of a proper entertainment
scene in Anambra State.
