Oscar Pistorius found guilty of manslaughter... May face 15 years in jail + impending bankruptcy

Popular South African athlete, Oscar Pistorius has been  found guilty of culpable homicide in shooting dead his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

According to Judge Thokozile Masipa, Pistorius had acted “negligently” when firing four hollow point rounds into a locked toilet door in the early hours of Valentine’s Day 2013.

On the charge of murder, Masipa stated that: “the accused is found not guilty and is discharged, instead he is found guilty of culpable homicide.”

“A reasonable person,” Masipa continued, “would have foreseen that possibility that whoever was behind the door might be killed by the shots and would have taken steps to avoid the consequences and the accused in this matter failed to take those consequences.”

For his manslaughter charge, Oscar Pistorius faces from a 'fine to 15 years in prison' but the judge granted him bail extension today and asked him to go home.

The judge didn't believe he will attempt to run despite the fact that he's sold all his property (to pay his legal fees).

Oscar will remain in the custody of his uncle until October 13th when he will return to court for sentencing.
