The investigative panel was constituted
by Gov Obiano on August 19th to investigate the lingering dispute between the
Anglican Communion and the Nkwelle Ezunaka Community and recommend ways to
achieve a lasting solution. The face-off between Community and the Anglican
Communion led to midnight demolition of a school building being used by the
Anglican Faithful for church services, by unknown persons.
To forestall violent clashes,
Governor Obiano had visited the aggrieved persons, called for calm from both
warring parties and set up an investigative panel to recommend very effective
ways to resolve the crisis. After many productive meetings and deliberations,
the panel submitted their findings to the governor today, at the Governor’s
Lodge, Amawbia.
Receiving the report, Obiano
promised to ensure fairness and prompt implementation of the recommendations of
the panel.
