TARABA: Suntai's days seem numbered as Assembly sets up Medical Panel

Taraba State House of Assembly has suddenly woken to its responsibility.

Nearly two years after an air crash has left the Taraba State Governor, Danbaba Suntai incapacitated, indications emerged that the days of the ailing number one citizen are indeed numbered, following the setting up of a five-man medical panel by the House.

The medical panel is chaired by Professor Bala Shehu, and has as members, personal physician to the ailing Governor, Suntai, Dr Ahmed Kara, Prof. Peter Alabi, Dr Shehu Sule and Dr Inusa Samaila.

The panel announced on Saturday, is to ascertain the fitness or otherwise of Suntai to remain in office, just as according to observers of the unfolding events in the state, is part of calculations for the 2015 general elections across the country. It is also seen as part of efforts to douse palpable tension.

The panel is to be inaugurated soon.
