The Governor of Niger State, Alhaji Babangida Aliyu has
described as ‘enemy’s actions’ the allegations that he mooted and sponsored the
2015 joint Presidential ticket of the Speaker House of Representatives,
Aminu Tambuwal, and Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State.
Aliyu in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary,
Israel Ebije, says:
“I want to put records straight that at no time did Lamido
and I ever asked Rotimi Amaechi to contest the 2015 presidential election with
Tambuwal.
Babangida Aliyu lamented the abuse of freedom of expressions
by a section of Nigerians and therefore admonished citizens of the country on
the need to desist from making negative use of the media which he said is
capable of causing more havoc than good to all.
“I believe those behind the publications were hired purposely
to mislead Nigerians or over-heat the polity. They intend to engage in wrong
claims purposely to satisfy the narrow interest of their paymasters,” the
statement pointed out.
“Whoever Allah wills will become the next President in 2015
election because, the will of God will surely prevail on who will finally
emerge”.
