President of Customary Court swears in Speaker as the acting Governor of Adamawa State

Following the impeachment of Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State and the resignation of his Deputy, Bala Ngilari, Speaker of the State House of Assembly has been sworn in as the new acting Governor.
The acting governor was sworn in by the President of the Customary Court in the Council Chambers of the Government House, Yola.

Acting Governor Umaru Finitri in his first but short statement promised to pay the workers their outstanding two months salaries.
He is expected to be in office for the maximum of 3 months within which INEC is expected to conduct a fresh election.
