2015: PDP Governors endorse President Jonathan, Speaker Aminu Tambuwal absent from Caucus Meeting

The PDP Governors have endorsed President Jonathan for the 2015 Presidential Election.

The PDP Governor’s Forum led by Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State declared their support after a dusk to dawn meeting with Mr. President in Abuja.

Present at the meeting were the PDP National Leadership and the House of Representatives Caucus of the Party.

Mr Speaker, Tambuwal was conspicuously absent.

This is coming few days after the PDP House Caucus declared their endorsement for President Jonathan to run for re-election in 2015.

According to the Gov Akpabio:

“The PDP governors were present when the National Assembly caucus did what they did. I do not want to pre-empt the action of PDP governors, but I can attest to their loyalty and their commitment to the success of Mr. President come 2015”.

On GEJ’s reaction:

“We are still waiting for INEC to release the guidelines, so Mr. President didn’t give anybody any answer; he did not say he would contest or he would not contest, but rather, he thanked them for the interest and confidence reposed in him.

“But I think from his body language, he is very mindful of the law and the need to wait for guidelines from INEC. That is what I noticed.”
