The iconic duo of Mr Peter Obi and Sir Victor Umeh have continued to
receive goodwill messages as they turned 53 and 52 years last Saturday.
In his congratulatory
messages signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Abuchi Onwumelu, the Catholic
Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev Paulinus Chukwuemeka Ezeokafor appreciated God
for the gift of Obi.
He added that Obi’s
financial shrewdness stood Anambra out as one of the most progressive and
economically viable states in Nigeria.
The Catholic prelate,
while eulogizing Chief Obi, prayed God to continue to bless and strengthened
the former governor, who he described as a gift to mankind.
On Umeh, Ezeokafor, who
is an ardent promoter of hard work, prayerfulness, justice and love for one
another, described the APGA boss as a political warrior who had fought many
political wars, noting that Umeh’s leadership qualities had made APGA the party
to beat in Anambra State.
On his part, the Deputy
Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt Hon (Prince) Chudi Orizu
said:
“It takes a great man
to create imprints on the rock, Obi’s type is rare and his humility is noble”
“The foundation he laid
in our dear State bears the future of Ndi Anambra. Obi is a bearer of the rays
from the Light of the Nation”
“May he live to achieve
his aspirations’.
On Chief Victor Umeh,
Engr Orizu said:
“Chief Umeh is a man
with a lion heart, a dogged fighter, a leader with vision and an achiever per
excellence”
“His purposeful
leadership has placed our party (APGA) as the only hope for Ndi Igbo”
“He deserves longer
life and more opportunities to serve our people”
