Drama in Ebonyi House of Assembly: Impeached Speaker recalls suspended members as Hon Nnenna denies being attacked, jumps to Speakers camp

The impeached but reluctant Speaker of Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Chukwuma Nwazunku, has recalled the three members of the House who were suspended before his removal from office.

Hon Nwazunku announced the recall of Eni Uduma Chima representing Afikpo South West, Frank Onwe representing Ohaukwu North and Blaise Orji during a news briefing at his residence in Abakiliki.

The Speaker who did not disclose where the meeting was held stating that the crisis has been resolved and called on all aggrieved members to sheathe their sword for peace to reign in the State.

Also, in a dramatic circumstance, the member representing Ohaozara East State Constituency, Nnenna Nweme, who alleged that she was attacked by thugs loyal to Nwazunku, reversed her earlier claim sating:

“I was not attacked by the Speaker’s men. I was rather deceived by the other group to stand against Nwazunku. I am now with Hon. Chukwuma Nwazunka. He is a good man and I am with him”.

There is tension in the state following attempt by the two groups to hold separate sittings at the Assembly chambers with security been beefed up at the Assembly complex to avoid members forcing themselves into it.
