Meet the Historic Nigerian, the First Black Councilor in Poland

 
A Nigerian, Justin Nnorom, has emerged as councilor in a district in Poland, the first to achieve such a feat in the history of the eastern European country.

Justin was elected councilor of Dabrowka -gmina Dopiewo, a district in the city of Poznan.

A former Nigerian international footballer, Justin who had a long spell with the famous BCC lions FC of Gboko with whom he won the Mandela Cup, later had a short stint with Polish side Lech Poznan qualifying them for Europa Cup for the first time.

His career was unfortunately cut short by a knee injury. Several operations carried out in Germany to repair the damaged knee, failed thus making him to quit prematurely from soccer game.



The ex-under 17 player who later furthered his education in Poland where he bagged a B.A English , B.A in Didactics of English Language between 2005 and 2007 from the famous College of Foreign Languages, Poznan.

He is a FIFA agent having been granted licence in 2010 by the world football body to run an agency known as JJNsport Sport Management and Consulting Agency. He was wooed to participate in politics following his brilliant feat working as an interpreter and as a lecturer.

Reacting to his election, Justin said “I am overwhelmed with my election as councillor of Dabrowka-gmina Dopiewa community. I want to thank my family, friends, wonderful neighbours, inhabitants of my community, acquaintances and associates for their show of trust, support, kindness and words of encouragement that saw me emerge. I pray God give me the strength and wisdom to carry out my responsibility without fear or favor. Thank you all and God bless”.

Justin is married to a Pole and the marriage is blessed with two children, a boy and girl.
