Chief (Sir) Victor Umeh, the National Chairman of the
All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has described his party as “a general
party of Anambra people”.
Speaking during the mass defection of over 4,000 members of
the All Progressives Congress (APC) to APGA, Sir Umeh said the defection
signifies that APGA is the only hope the people of the state have for their
salvation.
Chief Umeh, who is fondly called Ohamadike, said the
significance of the mass defection of APC members is that in the next election,
APC can be easily eliminated because the party has been seriously decimated to
the extent that nobody can work for it or even vote for it.
Read his words:
“We are very happy today that APC’s back has been broken in
Anambra State. Both the chairman, members of the executive and over 4,000
members decamped en masse to APGA. There is only one thing to say: that APGA
has become a general party of Anambra State. Nobody wants to be left out of
APGA because it is the only party that has changed the face of the state”.
