Bomb Scare in Osun: Explosion of low calibre dynamite cause confusion

There was confusion in Ile Ife, Osun in the early hours of today after an explosion from a dynamite planted by unknown persons.

Confirming the incident, the Ibrahim Maishanu, the State Commissioner of Police explained the dynamite was harmlessly placed in two different locations.

"It was a dynamite of a low calibre and it was placed in an area where it cannot hurt anyone or damage property. When the first one exploded, police bomb unit went to the site and the second one was found at the same location and it was detonated by our anti-bomb squad,” Mr. Maishanu said.
