The
occasion was 80th birthday celebration of High Chief E.O. Mbaekwe, Orimili 1 of
Ogidi. It was a well attended event which brought together the who is who in
Ogidi and beyond.
Chief Sir
Victor Umeh alongside two other contenders for the Anambra Central Senatorial
seat were present at the event.
While the
incumbent and APC candidate, Senator Chris Ngige exchanged warm embrace with
Chief Victor Umeh, Chief Obiorah Okonkwo, a PDP contender to the Anambra
Central Senatorial seat and an indigene of Ogidi gave Umeh a hug and
declared that he would be happy to have Umeh at the senate if himself does not
go.
He
reiterated his conviction that Umeh would do well at the senate. He averred
that he has no opposition to Umeh's senatorial ambition save for the fact that
himself is also interested in the same seat.
The climax
of the event was the open endorsement of Chief Victor Umeh by the generality of
Ogidi Stakeholders present at the event.
Chief Emeka
.J. Okafor, Eze Afojulu N’Ogidi declared that Ogidi’s support goes to Chief Sir
Victor Umeh. He recalled that Umeh brought Chief Willie Obiano to Ogidi in
2013; Ogidi endorsed him, and he won.
In the same
vein, he declared that Ogidi is endorsing Ohamadike Victor Umeh for Senate,
Anambra Central zone, 2015.
The event
was attended by multitude of Victor Umeh supporters from Ogidi and environs and
they were well received.
