Voting for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia
State gubernatorial election is like voting for a tenure elongation for the current
government.
The people’s cry for a change in style of government has
fallen on deaf ears as the State’s governorship candidate of the ruling PDP,
Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has named the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Mr.
Ude Okochukwu as his running mate for next month’s elections.
Dr Ikpeazu is widely reported as a stooge of the incumbent
governor who is now a PDP’s Senatorial candidate while Okochukwu, from Nkporo,
in Ohafia Local Government Area has been a lawmaker for twelve years out of
which he spent fours years as the Speaker of the House.
This move leaves the good people of Abia with the only
option of voting in another party if they really desire for a change.
