Timothy Olayiwola, a 28-year old carpenter, has been remanded
in prison custody by a Lagos family court for allegedly abducting and defiling
an eight-year old girl in Mushin area of Lagos, P.M NEWS reports.
Olayiwola forcefully took the victim to his room and pulled
her pants down before forcefully penetrating her.
The victim sustained serious injury and she is now being
treated at a General Hospital in the area, the report added.
The report informed that the incident happened at Coker
street at Mushin where the accused resides with the victim’s parents. After the
act, he gave her N50 to buy biscuit and warned her not tell anyone what
happened.
It was gathered that the unnamed little girl eventually told
her parent what happened to her after she started experiencing pains and
bleeding from her private part.
The accused later confessed to the police that he committed
the act after the matter was reported to the police at Olosun division in
Mushin.
The Oyo state-born artisan also confessed that it was not the
first time he was raping minors, noting that, a handful of them have been
victims in the past.
He told police that he defiled a seven-year old girl and
pleaded with the victim’s parents who later withdrew the matter.
While answering questions on why he took to defiling minors,
Olayiwola said that it was he was finding it difficult to woo women. He
narrated many occasions when he had failed trying to woo a lady.
The accused was charge of abduction and defilement under
the Criminal Code when he was brought before the court.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned and was granted
bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties.
However, he was remanded in custody pending when he will
fulfill his bail condition.
