Five members of the Federal House of Representatives have
announced their defection from the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP)
to the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).
They are Isiaka Mohammed, Ibrahim El-sudi, Taraba, Adams
Jagaba, Kaduna, Hambe Herman, Benue, and Ahmed Aisha Dahiru, Adamawa.
The defection factually signifies no arithmetical progress
for the APC, having lost five members and increased by another five. But it
does decrease the chances of the PDP to effect Tambuwal’s removal as the
Speaker of the House of Reps.
The defection dance in the lower chambers of the National
Assembly seems not to be over.
