Wow... 4 million female condoms distributed in Nigeria

 

Lol, are you aware that the Society for Family Health (SFH) has, since 2009, distributed over four million pieces of female condoms.

They have trained over 2500 people on female condom and its benefit… also have identified and worked with over 10 advocacies, amongst others, in the country.

This, according to the society, is in pursuit of its founding objectives to reduce HIV/AIDS incidences, sexually transmitted diseases and unintended pregnancies, as well as to promote international advocacy and policy support for female condom.

Territorial Manager for SFH, Ikejide Sabastine, disclosed this while recounting the key achievements of the NGO since 2009 till date at a stakeholder’s forum in Benin City at the weekend.

Ikejide pointed out that the forum, whose sole aim is to train promoters of female condom, who will in turn advocate the need to give unbiased information to clients as well as, emphasised the benefit of female condom.

The territorial manager also noted that the organisation has successfully sensitized up to 5.5 million people on the benefit of female condom.
