Super Eagles are billed to
re-open camp today in Calabar ahead of the double header Africa Cup of Nations
qualifying matches against Congo on September 6 and South Africa on September
10 in Cape Town.
Chelsea midfielder Mikel Obi is
likely to lead the 18 professional players to camp and CSKA Moscow winger,
Ahmed Musa is also expected.
Others expected today are Hull City
‘s Sone Aluko, Middlesbrough Kenneth Omeruo, AS Varese’s Nnamdi Oduamadi,
Schalke’s Chinedu Obasi, Lille ‘s Vincent Enyeama, Monaco ‘s Elderson
Echiejile, Almeria ‘s Ramon Azeez, Rizespor’s Godfrey Oboabona among others.
Meanwhile, a representative of the
team’s head coach, Stephen Keshi, informed journalists last week that players
are expected to start arriving camp today, 1 September, five days to the team’s
first match.
“The camp will be thrown open by
Monday (today) in Calabar. The coach will come back to Nigeria from his holiday
in the United States. The local boys are expected to arrive first,” he said.
Nigeria is grouped with
Rwanda/Congo, Sudan and South Africa for the 2015 tournament which holds in
Morocco.
