The journey to National Assembly come
2015 is becoming clearer for Chief Dubem Obaze, Ife aka Chi of Anambra North.
Chief Obaze, a former Commissioner
for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters in Anambra State has received lots
of endorsements from various quarters within his Senatorial District.
Recently the youths of the Zone
under the auspices of Omambala Youths for Equity and Justice, beckoned on him
to come out and represent them in the Senate.
Read the press release signed by
the group’s Chairman, Mr Samuel Onuorah:
”A PRESS BRIEFING HOSTED BY OMAMBALA YOUTHS FOR EQUITY AND JUSTICE IN
AWKA ON August 25, 2014
Omambala Youths for Equity and
Justice is a non-governmental organization with its headquarters at Aguleri. As
the name implies, we are at the vanguard for the promotion of equity and
justice in Anambra State and particularly in the Anambra North.
We have been observing with keen
interest the political developments in Anambra State since the emergence of
Governor Willie Obiano as the governor of Anambra State. We commend Governor
Peter Obi, Equity 2014 Group and Olu na Adagbe People’s Assembly for
championing the cause for the emergence of a governor of Anambra State from the
North Senatorial Zone. We thank God for that.
It is in this light that we want to
lend our voice to the call by Equity 2014 Group that Chief Dubem Obaze should
come out and contest the Senatorial Seat in the Anambra North Senatorial Zone. This
is more so considering the fact that Dr. Willie Obiano is from our Omambala
Zone.
It is therefore equitable and in
the interest of justice that Onitsha and Ogbaru axis, that is, old Onitsha Division
be given the chance to produce the next senator of Anambra North.
Again, out of the four Federal
Constituencies in Anambra North, it is only Ogbaru that has not tested the seat
since the creation of Anambra State on 27th August, 1991.
Equality, they say, is equity. Therefore,
we the members of Omambala Youths for Equity and Justice do hereby and on
behalf of our Group, beckon on Chief Dubem Obaze to come out and represent us
in the Senate come 2015. He has all it takes to be there.
