While the blackmailers are stuck in their pits, the Speaker of
the Anambra State House of Assembly, Princess Chinwe Nwaebili, has denied the
speculations going round that the members of the Assembly are on war path with
Governor Willie Obiano over automatic ticket to contest the forthcoming
elections.
Several misguided and sponsored reports had aimed at
instigating the honourable Speaker and the House against the First Family but
Rt Hon Nwaebili’s astute leadership style had kept the effects of such malicious
reports at bay.
Recently,
a newspaper had reported the Assembly and the
Governor were at war over automatic tickets for members of the House. Nwaebili
described the publication as a calculated attempt to cause disaffection between
the legislature and the executive arm of government.
She called on politicians to eschew politics of calumny. She
also vowed that House of Assembly will not be at loggers-head with the
executive over party issues.
Madam Speaker maintained that the legislature will work
harmoniously with the executive to give the people of Anambra State good
governance and explained that the House did not hold the governor to ransom
over automatic tickets.
