APGA releases Election Time-Table, Cost of Nomination forms, asks women to pay only 50%

 

All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has released its guidelines for the 2015 elections.

In a timetable entitled: “APGA schedule of activities for primary election 2014” signed by the National Secre­tary, Alhaji Sani Shinkafi, the party pegged the nomination and expression of intent forms for Senate and House of Rep­resentatives at N3.5million and N2.5 million respectively.

The party also announced that the purchase and return of Expression of Interest Forms and Nomination Forms must hold between October 27 and November 4, 2014 and pegged the forms for state House of Assembly at N1.2million.

Women aspirants for all the positions are however, asked to pay 50 per cent of the nomi­nation fees.

The party said: “Women aspirants shall pay only 50 per cent of the fees for the Nomination Forms stipulated above.”

It explained that “State Assembly and National As­sembly Expression of Interest Forms and Nomination Forms are obtainable at the state sec­retariats of the party.

“Governorship Expression of Interest Forms and Nomi­nation Forms are obtainable at the national secretariat of the party, Abuja.

The party further pro­nounced “it has the right and discretion to issue Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at any time before the scheduled primaries.”

On dates for the screening of aspirants and commence­ment of primaries, the party fixed December 4 for the nomination of governorship candidates. For the senate, House of Representatives and state assemblies, the party said that primaries for the positions would hold on November 28, 24 and 18.

The timetable read: “Ward congresses for the election of 3 ad-hoc delegates will come up on November 12, 2014; State House of Assembly primaries -November 18, 2014; House of Representatives primaries -November 24, 2014; Sen­ate primaries – November 28, 2014; Governorship primaries – December 4 2014.”

The party submitted that the screening of aspirants and determination of appeals will come up between November 7 and 22. According to the time­table “State House of Assem­bly screening at state secretari­ats of the party would come up between November 7 and 8 .”
