Louis van Gaal: Jose Mourinho is jealous of me

Louis van Gaal said Jose Mourinho is "jealous" of the list of clubs he has worked for after being confirmed as the new manager of Manchester United.
The Dutchman, who is preparing to lead Holland at the World Cup and has managed Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich among other clubs, was appointed as David Moyes's replacement at Old Trafford on Monday.
"Mourinho was the first one I texted," Van Gaal said. "And he was the first one to text me back.
"He said he was jealous of my list of clubs."
Mourinho was considered a frontrunner for the United job when Sir Alex Ferguson retired last summer, but had already agreed to become the Chelsea manager for a second time. The London club finished third in the Premier League, the first time Mourinho has ever finished outside the top two in a league campaign, and reached the Champions League semi-finals.
Van Gaal said he has a good relationship with Ferguson and will be speaking to him before he starts the job in July.
"I’ll undoubtedly have a drink with Ferguson," he said. "We’ve done that before. We like each other.
"The aim is to bring United back to the number one position as soon as possible, because that’s where they were under Ferguson."
