President GEJ has kept his promise to Malala to meet with the parent of the abducted #Chibok girls and the escapees.

President Jonathan earlier today had about 4 hours closed door meeting with many of the parents, 51 escapees and some community leaders from Chibok Town.

Also present at the meeting were Senate Presiden David Mark, Finance Minister, Mrs Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Principal of the Schol, Mrs Asaba Kwambura as well as some Heads of Nigeria’s Security Agencies.

Obiano holds 100 Days Performance Workshop with his aides

The executive governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano in his effort to ensure effective administration and service delivery to Ndi Anambra holds a workshop with his aides at Governor’s Lodge, Awka.

The Anambra 100 Days Perormance Workshop is aimed at arming the participants on how to build the bridge while crossing it.

Nnamdi Azikiwe University has scheduled its 2014/2015 Post UTME Screening Exercise for candidates who chose the University as first choice.

However, Candidates who may not have made the University first choice but who wish to be considered for admission into degree programmes of the Enugu State College of Education (Technical) , Federal College of Education(Technical), Umunze and Pope John Paul II Major Seminary, Okpuno (Philosophy), which are affiliate institutions of the University, may also apply.

University of Nigeria Lecturer commits Suicide

Tragedy struck at the Enugu Campus of the University of Nigeria, (UNEC) last weekend as a lecturer at the institution's Law Faculty, Dr Bede Opata committed suicide over yet-to-be ascertained reasons.

The lecturer who was until his death, the son of a former Commissioner in the old Anambra state, Chief Cletus Opata hailed from Nsukka area of Enugu state.

According to the Vanguard reports, the firm, which manufactures cars, buses, tankers and other products, would from August 8  introduce brand new cars into the Nigerian automobile market at the cost of N1.5 million.

The former Minister of Petroleum, Rilwanu Lukman passed on this morning July 21st in Austria. 

He was aged 75. 

A renowned engineer who held several ministerial positions in Nigeria before becoming Secretary General of OPEC from 1995 to 2000.

Breaking: Ebonyi State House of Assembly impeaches Speaker, elects a new one

The Ebonyi State House of Assembly has impeached its Speaker, Rt. Hon Nwazunku and elected a new one.

The impeachment occurred this morning.

Rt. Hon Chukwuma Nwazunku was impeached following a motion by Hon Chris Usulor, member representing Ezza South State Constituency over allegations of gross misconduct, incompetence and corruption.

REVEALED: Impeached Governor Nyako has fled the country

The impeached governor of Adamawa State, Nyako has fled the country.

One of his aides and a close confidant revealed to news men that his boss is on the run to save his life.

Nurses blast Doctors says ongoing strike is selfish, illegal and unethical

The Nurses are angry over the ongoing strike by doctors.

National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) has described the ongoing nationwide strike by members of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) as selfish, unethical and illegal.

NANNM also alleged that the strike was a well calculated and orchestrated plan by the doctors to divert patients to their private clinics to milk them of their hard earned resources.

NANNM stated this in a statement by its General Secretary, Yusuf-Badmus, in Abuja on Sunday.

The group advised the Federal Government to “stop all government employed doctors from establishing private clinics for the benefit of the citizens of this nation while still in government employment”.

Woman found with a dead 5-year old boy in Lagos

Policemen saved a strange woman from the wrath of a mob at Mile-Two, along Oshodi/Apapa expressway.

The woman was found with a dead five year old boy.

However, the mob had almost beaten life out of the lady who gave her name as Florence, suspecting she kidnapped and killed the child for rituals.

Man of the Week: Introducing Hon Chudi Orizu, the Deputy Speaker of Anambra State

Rt Hon Prince (Engr) Chukwudi Orizu was born in Nnewi some forty years ago to the family of HRH Igwe K.O.N Orizu III, the Obi of Nnewi,  North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

He had his primary school education respectively at St Christopher’s Primary School, Otolo and Uruagu central school where he bagged his First School Leaving Certificate. He thereafter left for Dennis Memorial Grammer School (D.MGS), Onitsha for his General Certificate in Education. At the Enugu State University of Science and Technology, he secured a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science Engineering.


He is the Director of two Computer firms---- Ecoweb Nig Ltd and Orizon Networks Ltd with headquarters in Abuja and branches at both nnewi and Abuja.

Hon Chukwudi’s desire to serve his people led him into partisan politics. In 2010, he sought for a political office which he actualized on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) when he contested for and comfortably won a seat in the Anambra State House of Assembly. He was subsequently elected the Deputy Speaker of the House a position he is currently occupying.

He has won several covetous awards such as Ambassador of Christ Award in churches so numerous to count, Honorific Award of Golden Friend of Agulu. He has also bagged a certificate in humanitarian services such as Henry Dunant Gold Merit Award by Nigerian Red Cross  Society.

He is also an active member of institute of Fraud Examiner.

He has between 2009 and 2010 completed his post-graduate course in Public Administration which greatly influenced his desire to venture into politics.

Police Officer dies in Sex romp while on duty

I saw this pitiable story on the Vanguard.

A quest by an Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP, (names withheld) attached to Ilu-Titun, Divisional Headquarters, in Okitipupa council area of Ondo State to satisfy his sexual urge while on duty has allegedly  cost him his life.

He reportedly died while having sex with a woman allegedly laced with the dreaded ‘thunder bolt’ (magun).
Sunday Vanguard gathered that officer, after reporting for duty on the ill-fated day, inspected the officers on duty.

Impeachment Breeze blows to Rivers

Today's Independent reports that barely one week after the impeachment of former Governor Murtala Nyako by the Adamawa State House of Assembly, attention seems to have shifted to Rivers State where some lawmakers of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said they are set to serve the state governor, Rotimi Amaechi, a notice.

In an exclusive interview with Sunday Independent in Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital on Friday, the factional Speaker of the House, Evans Bapakaye Bipi, disclosed that an impeachment notice would have been served to Amaechi last week, but that the decision was delayed because the state judiciary is not functional.
